Key Functions of the Office of the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Infrastructure:

1.     Coordinate all activities of the Ministry at technical level;

2.     Be the Chief Budget Manager of the Ministry as stipulated by the laws governing state finances;

3.     Work with the Minister, Minister of State and heads of affiliated agencies to ensure efficient and effective implementation of Government decisions for the infrastructure sector, in line with Government priorities;

4.     Oversee and ensure successful implementation of policies and plans related to the infrastructure sector;

5.     Coordinate the Ministry’s planning and budgeting processes in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning;

6.     Coordinate and monitor systems of financial and risk management, internal control and reporting in the Ministry and its affiliated agencies;

7.     Supervise implementing agencies affiliated to the Ministry;

8.     Chair the National Approval Committee responsible for allocation of infrastructure support to Affordable Housing and High Density Housing Projects;

9.     Coordinate the Development Partners working in the infrastructure sector.
