The Minister of infrastructure meets Australian delegation

27 March, 2017- A delegation of Australian investors is undertaking a working visit in Rwanda from 27th -30th March, 2017 for business matters. The Representative Office of the Rwanda Development Board, in collaboration with AusTrade and the ADC Forum, organized the mission and received a delegation of Australian business and Government representatives to witness firsthand the investment opportunities Rwanda.

The delegation was received by the Minister of Infrastructure Honorable James MUSONI at the Ministry headquarters in Kigali and presented infrastructure investment opportunities as well as Rwanda’s position in doing business. The delegation comprised of 14 big companies that are successful in doing business in Australia.

In his address to the delegation, the Minister of Infrastructure emphasized of the commitment of the Government of Rwanda to develop infrastructure projects, dedicating almost a tenth of the annual budget to transport, energy, water and sanitation, housing, urban planning and human settlement in Rwanda which is increasing with existing cities growing, and secondary cities being developed.  Other aspects that were discussed included education and ICT development.

The mission comes as the best link to strengthen Rwanda-Australia ties and bilateral relationship. The Head of Australian mission, Michael Roux, commended Rwanda for remarkable progress and tremendous achievement particularly in the after mouth of 1994 Genocide committed against Tutsis. “We, Australians, cannot easily comprehend how Rwanda stands strongly after the tragedy and how people live side by side while they were previously fighting, but come together now to build the nation” Said Michael Roux.
