Administrative Office Complex construction to be completed in 3 years

Kigali, 23 March 2016, Right Hon. Prime Minister Anastase Murekezi together with the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China H.E Zhang Dejiang and the Minister of Infrastructure Hon. James Musoni officiated the ground breaking ceremony of the Rwandan Government Administrative Office (PMO Complex) in Kimihurura.


This Administrative Office Complex (AoC) project which is worth 26, 5 million USD is a grant of the People’s Republic of China to the Government of Rwanda.
The three-year project will be made of three towers, with the capacity of accommodating the Office of the Prime Minister, various Ministries and other Government institutions that are currently occupying private-rented premises.


Addressing media after the ground breaking ceremony the Minister of Infrastructure Hon. James Musoni said that Rwanda appreciates the financial support provided by the Republic of China to this project. “We are grateful to the Republic of China for the support ,which will facilitate the construction of this modern building planned to accommodate important government offices of our country and thereby reducing shortage of Government Office”,  He said.
The Minister added that Government of Rwanda will provide the required support for a successful completion of the Administrative Office Complex. 


This complex with a capacity of providing offices for 1,100 staff will be a home to the Prime Minister Office and other four ministries with their affiliated agencies.


The Government of Rwanda and the People’s Republic of China have for long enjoyed good bilateral relations and cooperation in various sectors including infrastructure, health, agriculture, ICT and education.


The Administrative Office Complex will be located in the middle of the current Prime Minister’s Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Headquarters in Kimihurura, Kigali City.
