Kigali, 17th October 2017- Minister of Infrastructure, Hon. James Musoni presided over, at the Ministry’s Headquarters, the signing of performance for Heads of Agencies affiliated to the Ministry of Infrastructure including RwandAir, Rwanda Housing Authority (RHA), Rwanda Energy Group (REG),  Rwanda Civil Aviation Authority (RCAA),  Rwanda Transport Development Agency (RTDA) and Heads of Divisions at the Ministry.

The 2017/18 performance contracts reflect the commitment for Boards Members, Heads of Agencies and Divisions as well as the entire staff to fulfil specific targets in the infrastructure sector this fiscal year.  The 2017/2018 performance contracts were built on the long term National programs such as Vision 2020, National Strategy for Transformation, Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Strategy II, 7 Year Government Program, Sector Strategic Plans and other national priorities

During the signing ceremony, Minister of Infrastructure, Hon. James Musoni called upon the entire Heads of Agencies and Divisions to work hard and use the available resources in order to meet the set targets for the benefit of the citizens.

“We should work hard to see that all the services that citizens are lacking in all sectors be it in housing, transport, water and energy are delivered by meeting the targets we have set for ourselves for 2017-2018 and as well remain accountable,” said Musoni.

The 2017/2018 performance contracts are comprised of programmes to be initiated by Agencies to develop, rehabilitate and maintain an efficient and integrated infrastructure development including sustainable roads, better aviation services, sustainable power generation, affordable shelter and urbanisation, adequate safe drinking water and sanitation facilities, railway networks and water transportation which will contribute towards economic development and regional integration.

The Ministry’s 2017/2018 performance contracts signing ceremony comes after the signing of 2017-2018 Imihigo for Ministers, Governors and District Mayors  that took place on  6 October, 2017.
