Former Minister of Infrastructure Prof. Silas Lwakabamba this Wednesday handed over office to his successor Minister James Musoni

The Former Minister of State in charge of Energy and Water (Now appointed the Rwandan Ambassador to South Korea) handed over the office to the new Minister of State in charge of Energy and Water, Hon. Engineer Germaine Kamayirese.

Speaking at the handover ceremony that was witnessed by the Minister of State in charge of Transport, Hon. Dr. Alexis Nzahabwanimana, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Infrastructure, Mr. Christian Rwakunda, the CEO, Director Generals and Managing Directors of the Ministry’s affiliated agencies, the Ministry’s Officials and Staff and the Press crew, Prof. Silas Lwakabamba (who was appointed the new Minister of Education), congratulated the new Minister and assured him of his support any time in every sector say; Energy, Water, Transport, Urban Housing and Meteorology.

Hon. James Musoni expressed appreciation for the work done by the outgoing Minister and assured him of his support to improve infrastructures for the Ministry of Education, and said that he would build on the strong foundation his predecessor has laid. He urged employees of the Ministry and its affiliated agencies to work tirelessly for the development of the country towards meeting 2017 infrastructures related goals and targets.

The new Minister of Infrastructure said his key priorities were Energy and Transport for social and economic development, but added that other sectors were equally important for the development of the country and improved lives of Rwandans. As for major projects in every sector, the Minister said he was confident that all these projects would be implemented as required basing on hard work and team sprit with other team players within the Ministry and from its affiliated agencies.

Hon. Eng. Kemayirese Germaine also pledged her commitment to work with other members towards achieving the Ministry’s and country’s set goals and targets.
