Children participating in the 7th National Children’s Summit
The annual National Children’s Summit is a national level consultative forum that brings together children’s delegates from all administrative Sectors across the country. The Children’s Summit provides children with a special opportunity to express their views and wishes about building the nation.
The theme for this year’s summit is “The role of children in sustaining their dignity” which will be explored through the following sub themes:
• The role of children in preventing and combating alcohol and drug abuse
• The role of children to combat vagrancy and street children phenomenon
• The role of children to sustain child hygiene and nutrition
The 8th National children’s summit which will take place on January 19, 2013 at Parliament Building Kimihurura, Kigali will attract over 700 participants including children’s representatives at the sector level, government leaders, representatives of organizations engaging in child rights promotion, media practitioners and the general public. This event will also be live on Radio Rwanda and Rwanda Television with simultaneous updates on NCC twitter and Facebook accounts
