AGPF-Rwanda has embarked on preventing genocide while uprooting its ideology and related crimes in Rwandan society

The Anti Genocide Parliamentary Forum (AGPF)-Rwanda has since its formation back in 2015 embarked on initiatives and coordination towards the prevention of genocide and fight against genocide ideology and related crimes among Rwandan society and across the globe.

It is an initiative that takes roots from the Government of Rwanda’s political and legal instruments aimed at preventing genocide in general and punishing the crime of genocide that was perpetrated against the Tutsi in 1994 as stipulated by the Article 10 of the Constitution of 2003 revised in 2015.

The Forum whose vision is to create global society free from genocide, its ideology, mass atrocities, and denial and revisionism of 1994 genocide against the Tutsi, acknowledges that it was formed to inform Rwandans and the rest of the World about accurate and complete information on the nature of the genocide that was perpetrated against the Tutsi and related crimes.

The AGPF-Rwanda was also designed to create an inter-parliamentarian network in order to facilitate the establishment of the judicial and political mechanisms in different countries to prevent and punish denial and revisionism of the genocide against the Tutsi.

The AGPF-Rwanda also collects and analyzes information on genocide against the Tutsi, revisionism and denial among other responsibilities.

In line with implementing its mission, from January 2019, the AGPF-Rwanda in partnership with 32 stakeholders, both government and private which are committed to working in the fight against the Genocide denial, revisionism and related ideologies, started a series of radio broadcasting programs aired weekly aiming at arising public awareness campaign through discussions and debates on Radio Rwanda-Inteko.

The forum was created to organise advocacy and lobbying campaigns to the public and private institutions with a view to cracking down on the denial and revisionism of the genocide perpetrated against the Tutsi.

The AGPF-Rwanda has the mission of raising awareness, advocating and lobbying for prevention of 1994 genocide denial and related crimes, as well as helping the public and youth in particular to have increased understanding and awareness of what makes up the genocide crimes, its revisionism and trivialization.
