RwandAir flights to Abuja will start in January 2018.

15 December 2017: The Federal Republic of Nigeria through the Federal Ministry of Transportation has officially approved RwandAir flights into Abuja, the second destination in Nigeria after Lagos, effective from 1st January 2018.

This approval follows a Bilateral Air Service Agreement (BASAs) negotiated alongside the 3rd Annual International Civil Aviation Organization World Aviation Forum 2017 held in Abuja, Nigeria from 20-22 November 2017 under the theme “Financing the Development of Aviation Infrastructure. “The deal also presents RwandAir new market opportunities to exercise 5th Freedom Traffic between Abuja and Yaoundé, Republic of Cameroon.

Rwanda has already signed 60 bilateral air service agreements with several countries as part of government efforts to increase air connectivity and deepen trade in Africa and beyond to ensure that Rwanda opens to the world and vice versa.
